Wortreich ("we", "our", or "the app") is a German vocabulary learning application. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Wortreich.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: If you sign in with Google, we receive your display name, email address, and profile photo from Google Sign-In. This information is used solely to identify your account and enable features like the leaderboard.

Learning Data: We store your learning progress locally on your device, including your selected CEFR level, XP, daily streaks, quiz scores, and game mode progress. If you sign in, some of this data may be synced to our servers (Firebase Firestore) so you can access your progress across devices.

Device Information: We do not collect device identifiers, hardware model, or operating system information beyond what is automatically provided by Google Play services and our advertising partner.

2. Firebase Services

We use the following Firebase services:

• Firebase Authentication: To manage user sign-in via Google accounts.
• Cloud Firestore: To store and sync leaderboard data and user progress for signed-in users.

Firebase services are operated by Google and are subject to Firebase's privacy and security documentation.

3. Data Storage and Security

Most of your learning data is stored locally on your device. For signed-in users, leaderboard scores and basic profile information are stored in Cloud Firestore. We use reasonable security measures to protect your data, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except as described in this policy (Firebase for authentication and data storage). Leaderboard data (display name and score) may be visible to other users of the app.

5. Children's Privacy

Wortreich is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights

You can:

• Delete your local data by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.
• Request deletion of your server-side data by contacting us.
• Sign out at any time to stop syncing data to our servers.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
